The vet said my horse has wobblers!!!!!

Butting in on this discussion but what has been the outcome with your mare please. Its still very early days for my lad, only 10 weeks after his medication and whilst he is jumping very well he's still dipping behind the saddle when out hacking. Not come across anyone else whose had this problem.
Hi Dixie, I've not come across anyone else yet either! Just started physio and doing some stretches everyday. Unfortunately this is also paired with stifle issues and kissing spines so she's on box rest for the stifles at the moment. So it's difficult to say right now! Would be interesting to catch up and see you're managing. What medication did he have?

Ah ok, probably a different scenario as she has other issues too. He had steroid injections into his neck joint (long complicated names!)- into joint C5 I think or maybe C6 on both sides of his neck, a few days off and then I resumed work with him. He was re-assessed after a month and vet said he was 50% improved and another vet check this week which was the 10 week period. He hadn't improved a great deal since the last time but on reading literature from Richard Hepburn, who is apparently the "neck" expert, it can take up to 4 months. He has however, just had Cartaphen injection too, to help with inflammation I think. I have started jumping him again and he is going better than ever but disappointingly he is still dipping behind the saddle and tripping up occasionally. So time will tell. By all means PM me for more info if you wish. I would definitely be interested in how your mare is doing.
