Elf On A Shelf
...
Yesterday we tootled down to the Scottish Horse Show with the Wee Coloured Job. He hasnt been out since August which made things interesting 😂😂😂
We arrived and I always double tie him - one rope over, one rope under the bar. The under rope I dont undo I just unclip. As soon as he was untied he wasn't waiting for the front bar to cime down he was offskis! His feet barely touched the ramp and we went fly leaping across the carpark a few times 😂😂😂 I got him back under full control and started getting him ready for his classes. I put his bridle on ... the bit was hanging out the bottom of his mouth! Bollox! I had forgotten to change the bit from the last pony who wore it! So I cranked the cheekpieces right up to the top so the bit was someone vaguely near where it was supposed to be. But in turn this then put the noseband top high up and it was far too tight! There were no more holes! So he had to spend the morning half wedged into his bridle! But it's ok! He could still shovel grass down his pie hole so all is good in his world!
We hung around for Aaaaaaages! It was jist after 12pm we went into our first class - the CHAPS Coloured class. Ok he was being a bit of a play boy but it didn't help that the lad behind me kept walking right up Lances arse! It wasn't til I said for the 3rd time that he was a stallion and could he please give him a little space that tbe guy finally backed off! We were pulled 5 of 5. Trotted up and got moved up to 4th- but only because the judge thought the other cob was lame! So thats another Shetland hater to strick off the list! I am not going to bother doing another CHAPS class. Only once has he been placed where he should have been, the rest of the time he gets dumped down behind a load of awful cobs -and some good ones dont get me wrong! I am realistic! But 3 judges have basically told me not to bother with coloured classes with a shetland. So thats that! I wont bother again!
Onto his M&M class. Trotted out, pulled 1st. Again trotted beautifully really getting back into th swing of things. The pony in 2nd was an in season exmoor who kept screaming for her friend and apart from a bit of fidgetting Lance ignored her. We stayed 1st in that class! Outside the ring the guy with the exmoor kept trying to walk close to talk and if the mare wasnt in season I wouldn't be so bothered but a combination of an in season mare and a fresh stallion wasn't high on my list of things to deal with yesterday! We got nothing in the Championship but do get a Sheild for the Best Inhand Shetland!
We stuck around after for a few mins as a BA Retro Liveried plane was going to be taking off. So whilst we waited for that Lance got some more vehicle desensitization in 😂😂😂
