Some of you might remember my post a while back about our 800 mile round trip to see a lame pony? Well, we can now top that!
We have over the last few months been all over the UK to see ponies that won't go near fillers, are 13.2 1/2hh and not 14.2hh, after we've tried the vendor has decided to keep, a pony who was substantially older than described and covered in mud fever (in second thoughts - have travelled to two with bleeding mud fever). It is so frustrating!
I have tried word of mouth, local PC's etc and as an experienced parent offering a 5* home I ask all of the right and thorough questions, get video clips and photos before travelling. We are looking for a scopey 14.2hh, any age or experience that has scope to affiliate and jump 1.10's, so trying not to be too prescriptive.
Are others having so much trouble looking for horses or ponies?
