Fly's faltwork is not brilliant. He is behind the leg and works on the forehand until the first canter then he improves 100%. The thing is, when the jumps come out he cuts the corners (literally) in the school and careers around on the wrong bend. He 'locks on' to his jumps and clears them impressively but I am never happy with the fluidity of it. when we do flat work this does not happen so what exercises can I do to rectify this sitution. Have posted some pics in gallery of jumping today, although he looks ok jumping, the corners were cut and I think this shows in his rather 'stag like' jumping. Just to add, Fly jumps best in a hackamore, he is fussy in his mouth and abhors a contact. Advice please....

Discipline- small circles in every corner and keep circling until he will approach them sensibly. The bend around your inside leg is your responsibility- if you can't get it then trot and ride shoulder in until you can.

Small fences and after each fence delibrately riding the other way to the way he wants to go and onto a 10/15m circle, best to put fence at X on center line. when he softens allow him to go toward his favoured side, again onto a circle. And once he relaxes them jump and do the same on the landing side.
Fraid this is a repitition one till it sinks in. Good luck!
