*****Thefts in Dartford/Crayford Area****

I had a theft last sunday night, they tried to smash a door off the building we keep equipment in, because they couldn't get in; they CUT the corrigated iron roof off, peeled it back and stole most items - I think they were disturbed because they left quite a few rugs behind, although they were postcoded.

Only owned my horse three weeks, and they stole everything I brought for him: bridle, rugs, numnahs, girths, cooler, exercise sheet, a pair of gloves!!, fly fringes, leadropes, stirrups!!!! They left rugs, hats, travel boots, head collars and lead ropes so I think that they were interupted as they would have taken it all otherwise!!

This happened in Dartford, also this weekend we have heard of rugs being taken off horses backs in Crayford and Dartford (some of these were cable tied and some were chain and padlocked) my rugs have my postcode up the side and had my 2 horses freezemarked at the weekend.

Made me feel so unsafe at my own yard, little ******ers took all my new horses brand new stuff probably because they were still new, in bags, with tags on, etc!!

Please keep an eye out, keep your horses safe!!

Just to update they came back, rried to smash a lock off the shed, smashed the tractor to piecrs, attempted to set up a firr (worrying as we have wooden stables and a hay /strawnstorage area attached to the stables - which the horses were in!!), also removed 2 rugs which were cable tied on so came prepared with scissors and took rugs from an old pony and a young mare. Didnt catch my boy to get his rug but was a bag of nerves and took 4 days to catch him as he was blindly galloping so ended up putting hay and his feed in the middle of the field and leaving him too it until he felt safe...... this meant that he knew they were about and were likely to be in the woods watching me alone! Scary stuff that ive moved now as I did not feel safe, was sick of thefts and my horse kept going through phases of getting nervous so they were about a few times! Little wotsits!
