Got to the yard yesterday to find my grooming kit had been cleaned out apart from 1 stiff body brush. I have spent 5 years building up Beauty's kit and as she is too old to be ridden it is all I spend money on for her. Really annoyed as couldn't give B a proper groom.

Grrr

Get the yard owner to check through everyone's grooming's kit. Its not on, I would try and steal it back! I am glad I am not on livery yard, they can be awful sometimes.

That's not on
Again ask owner to find who's taken it
Other wise take each little bit of equipment from everyones grooming kit to make a full one
That way all liverys are going to want to find out who it is because they have all had to sacrifice a bit of grooming kit
That some theiving sod has taken
This is what my friend did on the say so of owner

Non the less they did find out and it was given back
So each little piece of grooming kit was handed back to other liveries

Unfortunately - two wrongs don't make a right!

Advice YO what has happened and as you say the brushes are marked so at some point you should be able to find them.

Invest in a lockable tool box - they make great grooming kit containers and lock it.

I used to get sick of my grooming kit going missing when I was at a livery yard. This was the only way I coould keep my brushes.

As I mentioned a lockable grooming kit. If your horse is ok with it keep the grooming kit under her manger. That way anybody wanting to try would have to go into your stable first .

Is there a notice board BB222?

Just thinking that you could put something along the lines of:

"I am very distressed to find almost all my grooming kit has disappeared - I cannot afford to replace it so please can you help me? It all has 'Beauty' written on it in green paint so please - if anyone finds any of it can you put it outside my stable?"

That might twinge a conscience enough to make someone *coughs* 'find it' and put it back. Also means you don't have to accuse anyone. :)

Thats absolute crap, speak to yo and ask what they do regarding dealing with stolen equipment and theives, today a grooming kit, tommorrow a saddle !! Make it known that if it turns up no more will be said about the matter and then keep under lock and key.
If it doesnt id bloody report the theft to the police and ask them to come up to the yard even just to show a presence,it may make the tarry fingered rat bags think twice about nicking stuff again

Black permanent marker pen! Write your name on all your stuff and then there is no question that it belongs to you! I had this problem at one yard and it worked for me ( even mane and tail spray was marked!).
