As above really, desperately seeking Thelwell fabric or duvet cover/curtains/etc. I'm getting married in April and really want to have some Thelwell in amongst the bunting, sentimental wally that I am. Sadly my own childhood duvet cover, which is what gave me the idea and what I planned to use, is locked in the loft of a house hundreds of miles away and rented to strangers through an agency, so chances of getting it out in time are virtually nil.

Will keep scouring ebay too, but saw Thelwell mentioned on here recently and thought it was worth asking. Very willing to pay - within reason of course, not sure my real horses would like to go hungry for the sake of some homemade bunting... ;0)

Hello, after a strenuous search of my garage (Daughter's bf very kindly tidied it up, but now I can't find anything lol), I did find a pair of Thelwell curtains, 90" long, and 35" wide each. In good nick. You can have them if you want.
The downside - I live in Belgium so the cost of p&p would be higher than UK. If you are interested, I will bag them up and see how much it would be?

TRock you are amazing! I know exactly the ones you mean, they are what I have myself but cannot get at! More than happy to pay postage, can't imagine it'd be toooo crazily steep, but only if you and your daughter are sure she won't want them one day!

I'd be really grateful if you could find out postage for me, please.

Thanks!

That's the only one I could find and I don't think it's that great as it's one big picture but you never know :D

Ooo thanks Sandi, I might phone them up and quiz them about it - the one I had as a kid has a giant picture on one side and lots of little tiny pics on the other side.

If only I'd not been too 'sensible' to take it to uni, it'd never have gone in the loft. What a traitor!

*whistles and looks over shoulder*

It was meant to trigger you to think "Oooh someone has photocopied loads of pics and printed them on to material transfer paper ready to iron on to triangles of bunting". I'm sure of course you'd check that you weren't breaching terms of copyright first:D

*sticks hands in pockets and trundles off, whistling nonchalantly*

Honestly, this forum just makes me laugh so much......:)

Poacher, I can't help you I'm afraid, I too am on the look-out for Thelwell material but haven't found any yet. Good luck with your hunt though!

Poacher - glad to help! My daughter is 23 so I am sure she won't want them again lol Have just come in from the yard so don't want to budge again - I'll go to the post office tomorrow and let you know :)

Hest - I did have a quilt but couldnt find it yesterday, can't remember if I managed to sell it at the brocante last March or not. I'll have another search when I have sufficient energy, if you like!:)

Gosh, thank you you two! I would have the happiest 8 year old girl in the county if I could hunt some material or a duvet down. All Thelwell stuff is harder to come by now. I cut up last year's Thelwell calender and made a huge collage in a picture frame for my daughter to hang in her bedroom. She was thrilled!
Anyway! Let me know. Happy to cover costs obviously. Huge thanks!

Hest, that's so cute - I remember being so chuffed to get my duvet set and curtains when I was about your daughters age! Did you see the links some of the first to reply to this thread posted - one of those was to The Saddlery Shop selling a duvet set, might be worth a look.

I did see it thanks, but they are out of stock sadly and have been for ages :(. I have been looking for well over a year now and still no joy *sigh*.

Bring back the old days when you could get Thelwell anything, that's what I say!
I am so impressed that there is surviving Thelwell bedding out there still in existence that was not ruthlessly turned into dust sheets by your parents when you left home!

The only surviving Thelwell possession I have is a mug (amazingly!) which is still in use, chip-free and going strong 30 years later. And my sister has a Thelwell 'frieze' from the 70s which she cannily had framed before it got too aged. It's currently hanging above my 5 year old niece's bed, decorating a bedroom for a second generation!

I wonder how many other people have surviving Thelwell stuff from their childhood! And I wonder if anyone still sleeps under Thelwell duvets?! ;)

Poacher - just been to post office, it would be equivalent of £10.50 to post (I know! post charges are shocking here!!). So it's up to you.... Where are you btw?

Yes please, that'd be great! Do you have a Paypal account, that's prob the easiest way to transfer abroad without either of us incurring bank charges I think?

Can you PM me your Paypal details - or another suggestion if you don't use Paypal - and I will PM you the address to send it to. I'm actually in Scotland, but my 'chief bunting maker' is in Wiltshire!!!

Thanks again, so pleased!
