Recommendations?
Magnetic, Back on track or anything else that’s helped your arthritic horses please?

Turning out my lovely poor horse is pretty screwed so anything I can do to keep him ticking over and hopefully get the most out of the joint medication he’s had would be fab.
He’s on Cortaflex super fenn. Any other recommendations of supplements that actually work would also be lovely.

From a personal pov I've find magnetic has helped my back.

I think Grey Mare moves a bit easier when she has her ankle bracelets on. And, all our horses have moved easier when they've had the magnetic pads on [their backs] before doing any work.

General things I’ve found help arthritis

- Micronised linseed (good anti-inflammatory and good for joints)
- cut sugar and starch if not already low
- keep moving and muscled as much as possible
- foot balance as good as possible
- more regular bodywork
- warmth / heat - I use heat reflective pad and back massage pad as muscle warm up

- few friends found cartrophen massively helped.

i've used magnetic and hock boots, both which have helped!

the most affective for my mare was the magnetic ankle boots from magnetix therapy. she also gets ice boots to help reduce swelling. X

Just incase of confusion I have two horses, this thread related to my ridden horse. No he’s not on bute or anything other than the cortaflex. He doesn’t need it at this point. He’s had a few joints injected and is currently sound and about to restart work (?) He’s the one I’d like to try any preventative measures to hold off the inevitable, he’s only 11 :(
The older retired one that I posted previously about, yes he’s on bute daily he’s past magnets and supplements I’d say, however what ever I buy they will share at first and I’ll buy more if I see results!
Thanks for the suggestions.

Where are people buying from now? I used to buy for a different horse from a place called Rahiq or something. I don’t think they exist any more
I’ve used this stuff. You need a minimum of 55% boswellic acids to get an effect. I saw research years ago which showed that boswellia slowed the progression of arthritis in humans, I take it myself for this effect. I give it for joint protection, obviously not for acute pain relief.
