I had this thought as I walked the brat pony round the block the other evening. I, along with thousands of other pony owners, own a pony that we simply cannot ride. All 5'11 of me would certainly not look suitable on a 12hh pony. Whether I was in the 20% rule or not
The only way I can keep him ticking over is by lunging, in hand walks or he mostly gets led off the cob when I ride out. As he got led out off the cob today an intrigued passer by asked if 'i had a little person for him' and quite frankly he's not suitable for little people as he tries to kill them before they're even on!
Once I've got my towing license I am looking forward to loading him up and taking him out to the local common and I can get my running shoes on, and exploring at a leisurely pace. Make both our lives a bit more interesting as walking round the same block (all roadwork) kinda is...dull. So why has no one invented a pony walking group?! Dog walkers meet up and it makes the 'job' more pleasurable having company. I'm not suggesting meeting up, letting a herd of ponies off the rope and them being let loose but surely having company of others would make exercising our 'i'm too big to ride them' ponies much more fun!
Just a thought
