My faith in humanity has been restored today, although I think I may have used up a years worth of good luck all in one go!
I am competing in the team dressage with my riding club in two weeks and am lucky to be getting a lift with another team member as I don't have any transport. We had training today and the team manager was kind enough to take me to the club training ground in her lorry. My boy was a star and worked really well.
We loaded up to go home after seeing the rest of the team safely off and found ourselves going nowhere. The lorry was well and truly bogged down in the field and everyone had gone.
Then, a saddler was driving by who had just done a visit nearby and saw us in trouble. He came over and tried to pull us out in his 4x4. How lovely was that?! Sadly, the lorry wasn't budging. Then, a man came whistling by and seeing our predicament said he had a tractor, which he duly got and returned to pull us out. The tow rope then decided to snap. Quite a feat really considering how thick it was.
Then, 10 minutes later he turns up in a massive bulldozer with chain. Needless to say we were pulled free. He then tried to turn down money profferred to him for his help.
If it wasn't for the kindness of all these people we would still be sitting there now. A pointless post but Thank-you!
