I offered to take a girl from the yard to our next dressage outing. Just got the times and she's on a 9am so I've worked out we'll be hitching up etc at about 7am.
Problem is I'm not on until 1pm and then 2:30pm so it's going to be a long day!
I don't mind because I know what it's like not to be able to get out and about so it's nice to be able to offer a lift - I'd just got used to a little bit of a lie in on a Sunday.

I think I'll be chucking my mare on the trailer and grooming her at the show - I have plenty of time to kill!

Your a very kind person to be a, giving up your lie in and b, taking someone in the first place.

Nice to hear hope you both have a great time

Could you not ask for the girl to be moved down the class? I know it's a pain but if she's on last would that make it better? Or maybe will be an idea to ask if you go again

Can't ask for a later time because she needed an early time as she has something else on in the afternoon (I think her mum will be doing lots of shuttling back and forth)
I always knew there would be hanging around but it wasn't until I worked out my timings and started writing 6:50am - horse breakfast that it kicked in!

I'm personally really grateful to people like you as we have a friend with 4x4 and trailer who takes us out even without hers! So cheers on your friend's behalf, too :) Sorry it's such an early morning and PITA of a wait around but hope you both enjoy it - good luck x

There was a possibility I wasn't goint to ride on Sunday because my horse had the physio on Monday and I wasn't sure if she's be ok for dressage at the weekend - but physio said it was ok to go ahead.
Would have taken the other pony over anyway as by that time she'd entered the class.
Will be nice to have an extra pair of hands - I'm usually on my own.
