as calling your horses in for dinner, for only two of them to appear through the gap in the hedge at the gallop. Particularly when the missing one is a; usually th front runner, and b; the absolute love of your life!

Although - there is ONE thing scarier, and that is when, having gone across the first field (with butterflies increasing every step), you reach the gap in the hedge...at the same time as 17 hands of solid muscle and temper comes charging through it, absolutely livid that he was caught napping!

I so know that feeling. A couple of months after having the ponies at home I went to get them in in the pitch black, and all I could find in the field was one small grey pony. I was convinced that the pink pony had been stolen or got out. No fences damaged or down. So where was he? Found him after about 20 minutes, inside our outer perimeter hedges but outside the horse fields munching happily on some grass. He must have limbo'd through the fencing to get there. He looked at me in disgust when I threw my arms around him and hugged him. :)
