I have just brought it inside to identify it and it is definitely pond weed. I live on a hill and my field slopes but is still managing ankle deep standing water. The world has gone bonkers and is now defying the laws of gravity ! I feel so so sorry for those Somerset farmers and I guess there are many who are in dire straights with their horses too. Pond weed wil be so far from their thoughts.
