I was browsing Facebook earlier and saw on the farmer's daughter's page that a dead body had been found in one of their fields. I commented and said please don't tell me it's Tia's field and it turns out it was!
Apparently the story is that there's been an elderly man missing from the area since Monday. He was took into hospital but discharged himself before he was seen to. The police have been searching for him since Monday in local woods and in the police chopper but not found anything. The farmer who owns Tia's field had a knock on the door this morning and was asked if he could go down to the bottom of the field in his landrover as they didn't have a vehicle which could get down there to move the body!!
The farmer himself didn't find the man but there is a popular footpath down the side of her field so I imagine one of the walkers will have seen him. Tia is the only horse in that field itself (although there are other horses around just on the other side of the fence) and she is very nosey when any walkers come through the field and goes straight up to them, so god knows if she saw the man.
Bless, although it is quite creepy it's very sad at the same time. The man was 72 and dying alone in a massive, cold field is no way to go. There's a very very boggy part of the field right down the bottom which the horses normally avoid. I've been stuck in it before and it sinks well past your knees as soon as you stand on it, and I do hope it wasn't there where he was found
If anyone's in Yorkshire, there's a chance it'll be on Calendar news tonight or within the next day or so, so watch out for a very nosey coloured filly.
