Hi, just wanted to let you know what happened after I posted on here asking for help with a mystery lameness and was recommended thermal imaging as a way of finding where lameness was coming from. I had taken horse to vet already as he was lame on 3 legs and although I thought the problem was in a front hoof, vet was certain it was hind leg so after nerve blocking hind leg and finding nothing people on here said i should try thermal imaging! Well I had Clare from the inner picture come out and see him and she confirmed my suspicion that the front hoof was the problem. It glowed up like a christmas tree and no problems anywhere else. So I took him to a different vet last week and they x-rayed his feet, turns out he has a keratoma. This has now been removed and he has come home today. Lots of box rest ahead while his hoof recovers but fingers crossed he will make a full recovery! :-) Very Happy.
I would def use thermal imaging again if there was a problem I wasn't sure of so thanks very much to the people who suggested it.

Interesting. Did the different vet re-examine him before xraying and what was his thought re: his lameness then?

Yes other vet did examine him before x raying and nerve blocked hoof too just to make sure. Just wish I had used this vet first and saved myself £400 on nerve blocks on hind leg for no reason.

yes, does sound like the first vet was a bit incompetant if the front leg was so obvious as to be blocked by the second vet! Shame you wasted all that money.
