Elvis has a mystery pain, probably in his back. It's been a long process and the vets, although proactive, seem to be wanting to see if things will improve through a regimented exercise regime.
We've just spent a while fixing his bloods, then the vets want to wait a couple of weeks before thinking of a bute trial. So the earliest we'd be looking at a bute trial is in 3 weeks time, then it'd be a 2 week bute trial and then maybe X-rays after.
But during this time they want him exercised 6 days a week for between 30mins to an hour, with a mixture of lunging, hacking and schooling. I understand why they want me to do this- he's big, gangly and young and they want to see if strengthening him makes a difference but I don't want to be working him if he's in pain. Even if it isn't crazy-bucking-rearing pain but just what's causing him to put his back up when I get on and being reluctant to move forward.
So a very long way about asking is thermal imaging worth it? It doesn't seem too expensive. Do you think it might help in showing if there is something going on in his back? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
