Thermatex Rugs and Sizings?!

Hey I'm looking into buying my first even Thermatex (EKKK) I've wanted one for YEARSSS!!! But I've decided to get one as have heard how amazing they, although I have heard they do stretch and they even state that on their website!!!

Now my boy is usually a 5ft9/6ft rug now should I go for a 5ft9 or a 5ft6 (baring in mind the 5ft6 is in pony sizes so cheaper haha) I don't know whether a 5ft6 will just be too small!?

What do people suggest?!

I think it depends whether your horse is build finely or is a more chunky sort.
My mare wears 6'6 rambo rugs and I got her a 6'0 thermatex.
My tb who also wears 6'6 rambos fitted a 6'3 thermatex although it was a bit baggy around his back end, the 6'0 was too tight for him around the shoulder.

My mare takes a 6ft 6" rug and her Thermatex is that size as well, but she could get away with a size smaller. When I wash mine I always put it in the tumble dryer to ' shrink ' it back a bit. They are fab rugs and I have had mine for years but it is true that they do stretch.

Go for a really fab colour, my daughters is yellow with red binding and it really stands out and if I ever need to replace mine I will go for something bright next time.

He's an arab so not very wide, although he does have a massive cresty neck so I do wonder about the 5ft6 fitting him round the neck!!!

I have emailed Thermatex to see what they think as I'm hearing many different responses haha!!!

TicTac I think I'm going to have to go for the tradition blue and red I'm afraid haha, I've wanted one for so long i don't want a colour I'm going to get fed up of haha!!! And blue and red I think looks smart for shows ect!!!
