thermo scan?

Isn't it just a laser thermometer. Get them cheaper without the equine tag on!!

Not sure you can check for all of those problems but you can certainly use it to check the temperatures of certain areas of the body, and look out for any differences so long as you know what the normal temperatures of those areas should be. Much better than sticking a thermometer up a horses backside anyway!

"NOTE: only veterinary professionals can accurately diagnose but the ThermoScan can detect problem areas and assist in deciding whether to consult a vet."

Just saw this. So you can identify if there is a problem and then get your vet out to investigate further.

yeah i just stumbled accross it on robbies website (i think the diff is £15!)....

but thought if it does what it says on the tin - clever idea....

Yes it is quite clever. My friend bought a normal one from Boots I think or somewhere like that to use for her dissertation on temps of horses legs before/after exercise with no boots/different type of boots etc. We had fun in the house testing it out on ourselves to see how cold our hands were after doing the horses in the winter!!

Hi I am new to the forum and was just reading through and found this and thought I would add my bit,
I have bought one on these and think there are excellent, I rang APG directly for more information, and was told that they ARE the only ones on the market that are specifically calibrated for horses, Since owning one I have found it invaluble:):)
