Lots of rave reviews and I'm sure they don't have results/such extreme results on all horses - has anybody tried them who can share their thoughts?

One of my issues with magnetic or other therapy boots is the restrictiveness of them. Especially when you have short hairy legs (Welsh D) and often have to go up a size to fit the circumference which makes the boots a tad long. These could definitely be of interest.

Wow that took some reading thank you.

I'd be interested to know whether any of the people who were skeptical ended up trying them at all, whether the people who had them then, are still using them now etc.

Lets hope this thread stays on track a bit better ;)

Lol, it was me that started that thread! How I regretted that one! I no longer have the horse who I used them on though (Owner sold her) but they definitely worked. Her splint reduced in size and she was more supple with it too although the suppleness is likely to have been aided by the schooling I was doing with her. However, I brought a new horse back in August and tried them briefly on her and noticed no difference whatsoever in her performance, movement or anything at all really so the jury is out on that one! They are now sitting in my tack room gathering dust so if you'd like to try them I'm happy to pass them onto to you!

I would still keep an open mind but am more sceptical about these now seeing as I noticed no difference when I tried them on my new horse. I admit she has no issues that I know of but these promised to promote energy etc too and she is so laid back, she is basically horizontal and she was definitely no more energetic (EG: Not very) than usual. I wouldn't dismiss them as I'll give most things a go but how effective they are, I'm really not sure on. I got mine at a discounted rate but there is no way I would have ever paid full price for them.

TGM is another user who has had experience with these. I believe her daughter has used them on her horse.

Sometimes I think that the worst thing that can happen on a thread here is the company commenting - remember the one about the riding hats?!

Acorn92x - I'll PM you, I am curious to have a play with them :)

I had "miraculous" results with magnets on the first horse I used them with. She went from hopping lame, even at walk to trotting in sound within 24 hrs. She was due to be pts in a few days and this really was a last ditch attempt to keep her going, she was 24 and retired. She lived very happily and healthily, without bute for another 3 months until she died in her stable of a stroke.
But I have tried them on other horses and had varying results, ranging from no difference at all to appearing to be more comfortable but nothing as dramatic as the first one. But no other horses were as bad as she was before the magnets.

Some of the "explanations" by the marketting depts of these companies dont make sense, so I'm not surprised that those who haven't used them/seen good results are sceptical but I often think that we should keep an open mind with horses and judge by the results in front of us.

I am a cynic. An old fashioned person who doesn't 'do' gadgets. I recently sponsored a BE event and was next to the EquStreamz guys. Took the mickey out of them but ended up buying bands at a great price just to prove them wrong. I have egg on my face. Put them on knackered ex-racehorse (too many injuries and issues to list and we didn't think he'd make the winter) He is back competing in dressage. He lives out 24/7 still as so mild and wears them all the time on diagonal legs just above fetlock. They don't slip down.

When you see a beloved horse who was about to be shot cantering up the field towards you, I don't give a flying **** about the scientific research blah blah blah - they work for him.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Pearlsasinger - that's why I was hoping for the people who said "yes they really worked on this horse, but not so well on this one" because I feel it is more realistic.

However I've bought the pair from Acorn92x and I will be interested to see what happens. I'm thinking I'll try to get before and after videos as my expectation would be a reduction in joint stiffness (arthritic horse).

Hi acorn
Do you still have the streamz bands? My horse has kissing spines and I'm desperate to try anything that may help her

I know this thread is old, but I jumped on the older thread where the product was mocked. The poor man offered some for free to anyone who wanted to try them, and although I thought it was a load of old rubbish I asked for a free human one.

The man was genuine in that he sent one out.

It was a human one. I have no idea about the science, but my bad hip certainly felt a lot better. It was not expected. It was very welcome.

I wish I had asked for a horse one instead of human.

I am sceptical about them, I've been thinking of getting them for ages. They usually have £10 off but I'm still not willing to pay all that when I'm not sure about them tbh. My horse is 38 and is now retired only last year so was thinking about getting them but he seems fine so I wouldn't know if they were making a difference, he used to be a bit sore in the summer on the hard ground with his arthritis but he's not suffered with that for ages, he has a lovely paddock and its not rutted so I think that helps. As they've been out a while now I'd be interested if people think they've made difference

I actually bought two pairs to try, one for a teenage horse that has a tendancy of leg filling overnight and one young horse that was a bit broken.

They worked on the filled legs, but not on the broken one! So I have one pair for sale if anyone would like to buy and try :)

Just for the record, I had obviously tried all the usual tricks of bandaging etc but the bands actually do keep them down, no idea why though!
