I said I'd let you know when they eventualy arrived and I will get pics on asap.

We have a 2 week old 3/4 TB skewbald filly who seems huge and is far too confident for her age. Marius SJ breeding on her dam's side and by Belton Gantaine TB on dad's. Mum had 1 foal before, had a text book birth and looks fab.

Not such an easy birth with our maiden TB mare 2 days ago; she delivered within a half hour window that we werent there. No sweating, still eating etc but was running milk so we knew it was coming but thought it would be a little longer!
Anyway, it was pretty scary as quite a lot of blood from the mare and a very weak small filly meant we got the vet out as a precaution and although internal exam seems to mean that all ok with her the filly is 'windswept' and has one slack tendon on another leg. Vets seemed confident that she should straighten with 8-10 days or might have to intervene with remedial shoeing for a few months if not - anyone had this happen to them aparently it's a 1 in 200 chance?!?
We've been making sure she drinks every hour as she was struggling to stand but today has actually got herself up several times and is even finding the teats all on her own. Think we've got a survivor but everything is crossed still!
Mum is great with her and we even grazed in hand for half an hour this morning and filly managed her first canter around us if that's what you'd call it - we were all a bit emotional but that could be the lack of sleep...

One more maiden to go and hopefully no more complications...
