The very small DIY yard where I keep Che are having a family wedding tomorrow and a huge white marquee has been erected in the paddock which we have to walk through to get from yard to field. Not only that, but tonight a red carpet has been put across from house to marquee. Is he bothered? Not a bit of it, ambled across the carpet, stopping only to eat the grass cos it's juicier in this paddock apparently. Now granted, he is fairly bombproof and not generally a spooky boy but I did think he might get a bit jumpy. Lets just hope when the band starts up tomorrow evening he's equally chilled, might have to use it as an opportunity to practise a bit of freestyle to music

Yes my lad has had to put up with alsorts with the neighbours parties, daughters wedding with marquee, fireworks & band, then there is the helicopters that their posh friends arrive in and land in the field right next to his, kites, you name it he has put up with it and had a good nose over the hedge at them all!!!

We,ve been told to just carry on as if they're not there, but tbh probably don't need to just for one night. Will ride early in the morning and then just check them in the field during the evening and pop back down later to make sure they are settled. If the worst happens we can go out through another gate and walk back along the road, it just takes 4 times longer. I have dreadful images in my head of them getting loose in the paddock and charging the marquee for food, can you imagine the photos

Oooh don't tempt fate, I may have to take the long route now in the morning, they'll be doing flowers and stuff. God, it doesn't bear thinking about, can you imagine the carnage one small TB and his 4 pony friends could do in a tent full of posh flower displays and little dishes of nibbly things
