One of our farriers who does carriage driving etc had a carriage and other stuff stolen on Tues night/Weds am from Fifield/Maidenhead area of Berks. Thieves obviously knew what they were doing and also crashed in side of his lorry to see if there was harness etc as well. Apparently they came accross a 35 acre field. Definitely a pro job, he thinks two teams working together and they also burgled another carriage driver in Cookham area last week.

Another friend had a yard in Taplow area burgled a few weeks ago.

Not sure what you can do when thieves are as well prepared as this and clearly know what they were looking for - but perhaps don't wander around stable yards on your own at night and make sure everything is as secure as possible.

I was in Scats in Newbury today and there was a notice on the board about a 1 day old foal taken from the field. Disgusting. Sounds like we all need to keep an eye out, sadly.
