Ok so I have 2 burmese, Sophie is *ahem* big boned

and Chloe is very skinny. Both get fed different feeds, Sophie is on the hills science diet and Chloe just has regular biscuits.

They are fed apart so they dont sawp food but Chloe is sick after shes eaten 9/10

Ive taken her to the vet and there is nothing wrong with her and they suggested adding a tiny bit of water to her feed but that hasnt helped either.

She doesnt like wet food and will only eat biscuits. They both have the occasional treat of white fish or tuna but thats about all they eat

Chloe lost more weight recently too, so does anyone have any ideas please on what I can try to feed her to keep the weight on and stop her being sick, Im worried she will waste away.

(also in SB)

Put them both on Hills sensative stomach.

Skinny cat could well be very sensative in her gut and be getting diahorea - hence the weight loss.

All my cats thrive on the sensative stomach food - but only one of them really needs it.

They are house cats so unfortunately I get too see their pooh

but no diahorea just sick. Will that sensative stuff help if its not diahorea?

Darent take Sophie off the light stuff - shes not sick so will stick with it as its controlling her weight nicely even if it does break the bank

Did this massive reply which disapeared.

Sensative Stomach is calorie light - so don't worry about the other cat.

Give it a go and see how you get on.

I don't know if this will be of any help but I was in a very similar situation to you 12 months ago.

I have two 16 year old cats, Bradford and Bingley (OH's idea!). Bradford has always been a thin cat and Bingley a porker. About a year ago Bradford had lost some weight and was around 8 lb and looked very poor. He was also puking a lot. You could feel all his ribs and spine and I was really worried about him. He went to the vet and had every test under the sun but they couldn't find anything wrong with him. They just put it down to his age (very helpful). Thet told me to feed him little and often and try different brads until I found something to suit him. I then spent the next 6 months trying every food on the market for him but they weight just wouldn't go on and he was still being sick a lot.

Anyway we got a Labrador puppy last June and both cats definitely dominate her and they would pick at her puppy food. Bradford has developed a real taste for it and now routinely finishes off anything Holly leaves or if he gets there first he'll eat literally half her dinner. The amazing thing is that Brad has put on nearly 2 pounds in the last 6 months and looks much healthier and best of all he's no longer being sick. I have mentioned this to my vet as I was worried that the puppy food might be bad for Bradford but he said that at his age it won't do any harm.

I'm not advising that you feed your cat puppy food but it has really helped Bradford gain some weight.

Bit of a long shot but she hasn't got hair balls has she (no jokes please). Our cat used to groom himself a lot and would have spells when he went off his food or was sick after it. We used to put some laxative stuff on his paws for him to lick off, and seemed to help the problem.

Thanks Marie - I nipped to the shop and got a load of goodies (mainly canned fish) to try her with to see if I can tempt her. This morning I put a bit of fish oil from the can on her buscuits but no joy. Ill keep trying though and if no improvement she will be going back to the vets.

Glad you cracked it with your cat though. I think Ill try all kitty options first and have ordered some of the hills stuff for sensitive puddy tats too

No I dont think so,

she used to get them but without being too graffic its not the same kind of sick as when she was getting rid of hair balls before but Ill keep an open mind. Thanks

you could try her on more of natural feeds such as chicken and fish...hows her teeth, can she chew properly If they enjoying eating fish and tuna i would feed them more just to help to keep the weight on

we used to own a burmese he was pts at the age of 17 and we had two Birmens aswell...these sort of cats are more fussy eaters but im sure if they are healthy wont sarve

The vet are alway pushing to buy Hills but im sure theres better feed out there...'Burns' i think they do cat feed

My friend's cat had similar symptoms and it was herina at the top of opening to the stomach! It's worth finding that out as well if you go to the vet. (said cat since had the op he's now a whooping 4.8kgs!! he's a big young cat anyway)

Try feeding her little higher than on the so she's standing while eating.

Yes they do Burns cat biscuits but it's hard to find also they come in small bags (i think 500gs)

Thanks both of you. Shes had fish over the weekend and not been sick which is good but I also have some sensitive tummy stuff on order from my local feed place.

Teeth are fine had them check at last vets check about a month ago
