We are off there this week in the campervan and wondered if anyone had any good places to go that allowed dogs such a pubs and shortish walks as Nanook is only 6 months old. Thanks

First job for Nanook will be protecting you from the natives 
I live on the edge of the FoD, and it has a VERY odd population to be sure....
The Glasshouse Inn is the best pub, it has a huge beer garden so you can sit outside if the weather is OK (I am pretty sure they will let Nanook sit out there with you) and the food is gorgeous
There are loads of walks through the Forest, try Mallards Pike and that area to start off with?
