Think Before You Speak!

I used to jump a funny looking bay roan jobbie only I more often fell off than won. She's 33 now and I still wouldn't swap her for a grade a pretty.

What rotten cows, and their comments were completely unwarranted.
Your daughter looks like a super rider, and the pony is just lovely. They look like a great team, and hopefully silenced a few of the critics when they wiped the floor with them!

I hadn't even read this thread when I replied to the other.... She looks like a fantastic pone.

People are so cruel but it usually adds up to jealousy- had the same with my boy... Told to get rid of him... Naughty, dangerous etc... Persevered with him, now I have a lovely, smart boy who everyone admires...

That showed 'em :D

Just saw the pictures and believe me I am not joking when I say that she is a lovely looking pony. Very unusual and genuinely pretty, your little girl should be very proud.

Where is the other thread with the pictures? I love roans! I used to ride a beautiful little roan pony who nobody else wanted to ride because he was "ugly". Im proud to say he was a cracker and I won most gymkhanas, usually beating the smug older girls in my lessons! ;)

Years ago, I beat someone showjumping, and she turned to me in the line up and said " I can't believe I got beaten by *that*!" ....my horse was no tb jumping machine, but we still beat her!!

People are horrid...:-(

Another one who placed a genuine comment on the other thread before reading this one. She looks great, especially in the head on pony club games shot! I also have a bay/roan/grey/blagdon Clydie cob and he also has turned his hoof to dressage, showing, hunting, le trec, sponsored rides etc. When i first got him, some said why did i want a common cob ...... Over the years they have definitely eaten their words! Keep posting with news of mini ob's successes!!

If it's your Heidi they were talking about I reckon it was jealousy. Mini OB looks fab on her and more than competent on quite a big pony for her. So I am sure they were 'green eyed'.
It's a shame horse folk can be so nasty. It's great that anyone gets out there giving competing a go without the added stress of unfair criticism.

Little madams like this have existed in the horse world forever unfortunately. Your OP really bothered me as 25 years ago I was treated the same my old sway backed ex hunter was an ugly bug but dear lord he could jump, those nasty little girls need to remember that beauty fades dumb is forever

Have seen your other post and a horse like this is worth it's weight in gold, everyone dream for their kids just starting out and for novices. And as someone said they couldn't judge a good horse if it stood in front of them and it's bridle full of champion ribbons.:):):)

I saw your other post before this one and I was seriously jealous of the super cobpony! What a wonderful animal! I can't believe this thread is about the same animal. Stupid women!

Presuming these were kids from nwpc? - if so I haven't met a nice one yet :D they're all rude, ill tempered and never happy! Kiddy that rides my boy goes to nwpc but she is only 9 so not really competitive yet - thank god!

Not seen your other post yet.

What little swines - really there's no need to be offensive or down right rude. Unfortunately it is pretty common  - fortunately our local mini shows are pretty fun affairs - If I heard anyone say anything about a rider I'd more than likely bite their head off  .

Ignore them and bask in success instead :D

They're not all bad, my daughter and her friends are nwpc members!

Lovely looking pony, worth their weight in gold types:D

Bratty little sods.....that is actually a cracking little pony. I would certainly give her stable room!
And FWIW I am so glad she kicked their asses!!!

Bb - okay maybe a very small minority are normal children. But some are awful!! Took kiddy to rally a few weeks ago and one lovely child had a face of thunder and her sweet horse was popping everything perfectly.

Perhaps its time for Pony Club to start having a manner class of graciousness and the most well behaved on the ground(I mean the child not the pony).

The others are seriously non starters with inept social skills and why would anyone want to spend time with that type of person. Fun is much more important at young age. I know who I would rather party with!!

I saw your other thread first and thought how lucky you were to have such a super pony. As for the comments made, I wonder if a young John Whitaker got the same with the lovely Ryans Son, who was good enough to take him to the top, but would look completely out of place lined up with todays jumpers. Your cob is just fine, they were jealous!

How awful! I love a roan! I don't go to shows/outings much but was shocked everything I read about on here is true in about 5 minutes of standing watching at every one I have attended!

Things to learn from these sightings:

1. If you ride (or cling hopefully onto) a pony badly into a jump, someone will shout 'kick kick!', then you can hit the pony with your whip and it will try to leap over, if it doesn't you can hit it three more times to teach it a lesson.

2.If you only get second on your first time out, pout and glare at the judge

3. Your pony is probably uglier than everyone else's and your child is probably too big or tall or their stirrups are the wrong length or their jodhpurs are the wrong shade of beige

4. It is funny to watch the hags and their spawn deal with a very pretty but demonic pony that cost lots of money and everyone smiles a little bit inside when they lose.

5. You can comfort yourself for smiling at a child losing because it 'teaches them important life lessons'.
