Think Horse Ad

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNzmvVan35

It was on during an ad break on channel 5 about 8.15. It showed two horses in hi viz with a car behind. Showed a car behind honking their horn and revving the engine and then the bigger horse playing up/rearing. I thought it was quite good.

I didnt like it. It doesn't focus enough on the fact that the child needs leading and more on the drivers impatience. The think bike one explained everything in a voice over.
I don't feel that the ad teaches the audience the importance of passing wide and slow either. Just kind of says don't do this.

However it's a start and that's the important thing. :)

It wouldn't focus on the fact that the child should be being led, because it is aimed at drivers, not riders.

Yes but all it shows isvthe driver revving the car and being impatient. Does nothing to show why they're two abreast.
So if someone who is like that sees it sll they'll think is 'oh well they should have been single file.'
Likewise if it were a youngster being ridden on the inside, the ad would do little to show why.
Drivers get so fed up because they don't understand why it's necessary sometimes, and that actually it's safer for them and their cars for us to be like that.

If it educated them better on this then it would be more effective.

yes, I'd like them to explain why we ride two abreast sometimes. Iv had people screaming at me 'SINGLE FILE!' before out their car. I was on a very young horse, he was on the side between the other horse and the hedge to give him confidence and a barrier if he tried to spook into the road.

But like others say; at least its a start.
