My daughter is at PC camp teaching . She took Penfold yesterday and finished at 6pm , then went to work as a police officer at 8 pm [ had to due to expecting trouble

] she hoped to do a few hours , finished 6am this morning and went straight to camp to teach all day [hope she sleeps over the lunch break

]
Anyway I thought I would be helpful and ride Rafi

, her quiet calm dressage horse that anyone can ride , even her Dad who can't do rising trot.
I don't ride any more but used to ride to a high standard [ BE eventing and advanced dressage, have BHSAI] She left me the wow saddle which I thought was quite nice but I felt stretched after a while in the groin!
I set off for a hack and his walk felt lazy

so I touched him with my legs and got no reaction so a quick tap with the whip and we were away. He felt heavy on my left hand so once we had gone a little way I started to ask for shoulder fore and changed my whip to the left hand to get more response to my left leg. He became softer and improved the feel he was giving so I could keep my hands forward rather than hold his weight. Then he started to become rather playful. Oh dear

. It was dustbin day and lots of bags were outside along the verge , everyone was a monster

. Then a car approached , now he is perfect with all traffic but his eyes were on storks.Then someone had dumped a bed by the bridleway and he took exception to that and spun round ,after a moment he approached [ you have to jump a small log to get into the bridleway] and jumped the log like it was a 5 bar gate. In the bridleway he felt light and soft and forward but I didn't trust him to suddenly do a pirouette. Once out of the bridle way and on my way home he would leg yield over and half pass back [only in walk] but think I might have been safer leaving him his calm quite normal self.
Maybe I will keep my feet on the floor before he decides to put me there!

I have just heard she had a fall at the water at camp when he stumpled in the water . She is wet through , think she is exhausted hope she gets home soon and gets some sleep.
