Got my mare in October and she was a bit on the cuddly side. Situation not helped by then not having a saddle until January (the one she came with was faaaaaaaaaaaaar too small and she has proved nearly impossible to fit), and being stuck indoors at various points during the rubbish weather scoffing the lovely haylage the livery yard owner provides. So decided to be a mean mummy and stick her out 24/7 about 6 weeks ago (she's had the odd night in) in a lightweight most of the time (she's a chunky monkey cob and has been toasty enough - clipped her cos she was getting sweaty so don't want her out totally naked), and she's lost 55kg!!!!!!!!!!! 
I am so pleased! My pony has ribs, who'd have thunk it! So my new diet is going to be: live outside wearing summer clothes only and eat nothing but grass! Think some of those crazy celebrities would be up for it!
