...that Jack is getting older

He had a vet nurse check today and (besides being a miserable git about his nails being trimmed) he is in great shape and his teeth are really good (little bit of plaque on one side but that's it). We took the dogs out afterwards, did 7 miles just about but the last mile or so Jack looked tired and was slightly lame He's full of beans on shorter walks (up to 5-ish miles) but I think it's time to admit he is getting older and not ask him to do the longer walks It won't go down well with him being left out mind you! The old git still sulks like a pro when I take Tia running.

He does, however, have a new job.....babysitting and socialising a friends 10 week old cocker puppy

He looks gorgeous! We've had to reduce our old Tollers' walks these days. In truth though, she seems to quite like being treated as 'special' and going for a seperate shorter walk than the other 2. Some days she feels brighter than others, and really we're guided by her as to how far we walk her...

I'm a bit like this with my dog, she's a 13 year old Yorkie and I have just about come to terms with the fact that she might be getting slightly old (only slightly mind you!).

Nothing wrong with taking him for shorter walks, 5 miles is still a good long way, he looks very perky still!
