First, i hope i am posting this in the correct section!

Last weekend i had a point two air jacket fitted, the lady said i looked like i should be a childs large, which i was quite suprised by because i am 5"5 and a dress size 10/12. I am also only 14, so will probably grow more.

I have looked on the point twos website, and have emailed them and they have reccomened a adults small, or medium!

I'm puzzled! going back on friday to get fitted again as really really really do not think i am childs!!!!!!

I think the problem is we can't really tell because a) we haven't actually met you and b) none of us (so far as I know) fit p2's for a living.

It does seem odd that the store has sold you a jacket that doesn't fit, though, and definitely something you need to take up with the manufacturers so they can correct the mistake and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. It's so important that safety equipment fits properly!

Re you growing though, that's a problem with safety equipment and why it's tricky to buy for kids. Almost by definition, what fits you properly now won't fit you in a couple of years.

My point two was fitted in the shop by running my hand, palms flat towards the floor, all the way up the inside of the jacket. This ensured there is room for inflation. Then they activated it and checked the fit after inflation.
I'd go back and ask them to fit it properly....

I don't think anyone on a forum can comment on the fit without seeing you.

My Racesafe is a large child- I am 5'10ft and a size 10/12. Without seeing me you would assume it would be far too small but I actually have a very short torso and anything bigger was too long and catching on the saddle.

I have an adult medium P2, so the same size as another poster who is 8 inches shorter than me- again, judging on a forum, you would not expect us to be the same size!

I had one fitted at Olympia, by Treehouse. He explained the fitting to me.

Its all to do with how tall you are, but mainly how tall you are from neck to middle of bottom !

I am 5'3 and a ickle bit, so really should be Small, but I am longer in the body so I have just bought a Medium, the bottom of the air jacket should sit in the middle of your bottom to cover and protect your coxis (sp)

Im no expert, but thats how it was explained to me.

If you go on the website it tells you more.

Could you have some photos taken with it on and e mail them to the company? Obviously not as good as them seeing you in the flesh but they might have an idea.

Weight as well needs to be taken into account!!!!

If you are a 2 stone weakling then the childs one is for you.

Childrens P2 needs 4 stone of pressure to activate

Where as the adults p2 needs 6 stone

I have adults small on being 5'2" and size 12 but 10 stone so plenty to activate the p2
