My pony has started head twitching (only way I can describe it) lately, only seemed quite random until today when it dawned on me it only seems to be happening on sunny/warm days so could this be hayfever? Or what else? And any ideas on treatment? Thanks

Don't really know if your horse has hay fever but my homebred 20 year old mare does literally get hay fever, in that she has runny eyes and nose the moment I start feeding hay in the autumn. She was about 4 when she started and we had lots of tests done and antibiotics as vet thought she had an infection but it turned out to be hay fever. I also had a cat that had severe hay fever in the spring and her eyes would swell and then close up.

If it is a pollen allergy (similar to humans), you can give them human hayfever tablets (you can buy them online very cheaply). I give mine 8-10 a day. I also ride with a pollen nose net.
However, head twitching does not really sound like hay fever to me, I would expect it to affect breathing as well. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
