Well will keep it short been awhile since i've been on here.

I'm wondering about fostering a dog. Me and my boyfriend have been dog less for over a year now.
I was looking at getting a puppy but boyfriend seemed to think best to wait til after we've had kids (if we're having them will be in next few years otherwise i'll be passed it lol)
So wondered about fostering, anyone got any experiences of doing this. My only concern is our garden isn't fenced all round, we run a farm/campsite (more of a campsite as only got chickens etc and my horses ;) ) So house garden isnt fenced and then turns into yard/parking area buildings etc would this be a problem? I see most places want you to have a secure garden.

Anyone got any experience of Little angels staffie rescue?
Happy to pay for dog food if needed but would prefer costs to be met by rescue.

Haven't approached OH with this idea yet :)
 
Think you'll find you will need a secure garden to foster - a puppy may adapt better to your lifestyle - bf needs some education as probably easier to have dog trained and established and well socialised so easy to manage when baby comes - maybe he doesn't really want a dog?
 
I have 2 foster dogs atm and my garden is securely fenced, safety is a priority and so your garden will have to be properly fenced for a responsible rescue to consider you.
 
can you put temp fencing up to keep dog in-lots of local animal sanctuary's would be happy to talk to you and come and see what your situation is at home...worth a shot
 
The open access to a car park would put me off...it would have to be fenced off purely to protect the dog from traffic risks and encounters from visitors dogs whose temperaments are unknown to you and your foster.
 
Fenced I'm afraid! Why not have a quick think about where you could fence securely of the house...you will need to at some point anyway! Get an idea of costs before chatting to your OH.

Happy Staffies...a lot of their dogs come up on my pages and look lovely..
 
We didn't have 6ft fence at our first house when we were fostering BUT we were closely matched to foster dogs who were a size and temperament that wouldn't try to get out and they were never allowed out alone (neither were our own dogs). Second house was 6 ft all around and none of the dogs were allowed out unsupervised either.
