As the title says, I am thinking of trying my mare with a bitless bridle. Have tried all kinds of bits over the last couple of years and I just don't think she's happy. Can anyone recommend any books, websites etc. Thanks

If youre on facebook then theres a good group on their called bitlessandbarefoot.com-metal free horses. I took my mare bitless when she came to me as I just sensed she wasn't happy and shes a diff horse. Its definitely worth a try but just bare in mind that there are lots of different bitless so if your horse doesn't like one then its worth trying others. I find with my mare that less is more with her so we just use a halter and ride out like that. bitlessandbarefoot.com have a really good pae explaining all the diff bitless and they also sell the matrix which is a bitless that converts to all of the bitlessees so you can try each one and find which suits you both. Goood luck!
