What are your thoughts on them and where did you buy them from. I am looking to buy the Ultra Thinline Pad. I have tried to contact Fred & Rowena Cook who sell them but have had no reply. They are very expensive but have very good reviews.

I bought the enormous one. It was bigger than I was expecting.

I trimmed it a bit for saddle length, but really didn't like it when I placed it on the horse. The saddle was a perfect fit, and then it wasn't!

So. there it has sat in my tack room ever since, a real waste of money!

It was a faff to buy too, I had to import it from abroad!

Yes, I am concerned about the buying it from abroad, that is why I contacted Fred & Rowena Cook as they sell them over here but I have had no reply. What was it you did not like, I just want to protect my mare's back, she doesn't have a problem but its always nice to give some protection.

I just found it cumbersome under a saddle that already fitted. It is a flat sheet, so when you fold it over the back, it doesn't sit beautifully over the wither. It is very thin, so maybe if I had persisted, I would have loved it.

I got the bigger one as I thought the smaller ones were a bit too small. I only trimmed mine for length as the big one looks like it was actually designed for a western saddle LOL. Maybe if I had trained it smaller it would have laid better? I bought it after people on here recommended it. I don't suppose I really needed it. Impulse buy!

I try to ignore it when I open the tack locker!

I don't think Mr Red knows how much it cost

I have one and use it daily. I got the regular thickness as my boy was very green and had little topline, so figured it would help more than the slim version.

Mine was fitted to my saddle and did require a bit of tweaking by the saddler to get it to fit properly.

Personally, I like it. It gives me peace of mind that I'm doing something to help protect his back.

I got the sheepskin half pad and I use it all the time. However, do NOT wash in the washing machine even on a low setting. I destroyed myfirst one and had to get another. very expensive mistake....

I have one and use it all the time. Occasionally I forget to put it on and I really feel the difference. It really "softens" the saddle. When I forgot it for my just backed horse, he was clearly less comfortable and less settled.

I think I got mine from here www.thinlineglobal.eu

Oh dear that doesn't sound good, I will remember that.

I just want the Ultra Thin thinline. It works out about £94 with the import tax and delivery!!

I will have a look at Comfy Horse.

Many thanks for all your replies.

I picked up a cheap one from ebay a year or two ago after a lot of research. I had high hopes for it, but it just didn't sit nicely under the saddle at all, and consequently has sat in my tackroom unused.

I've now got a VIP Pad which has been great, really recommend them
