I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of their mare suffering a third-degree perineal laceration - in particular if they were able to breed from the mare again!
I have a 7yr old mare who I bought with this injury which we believe she suffered during foaling in 2008 and my vet will be booking her into Leahurst next month (fingers crossed). However he is not sure whether she will be able to breed again as he does not know allot about this kind of injury (thus the reason for sending her to Leahurst).
I would love to breed from her as she has a good pedigree. But if I can't it won't be the end of the world as after watching her pop over the field gate (with minimum effort) to pinch my Section D's foal I wouldnt mind backing her to compete instead
!!
