What companies do you recommend?

We don't insure our horses as we keep a stash of money away in case of vets bills (and enough to cover emergency surgery too). They have until recently been living at a very secure farm and I have only been hacking out very rarely on the old boy.

We've recently moved to fields near the road the younger horses are all starting to come into work, so the odds have gone up for needing to make a claim!

I don't really know where to start, is it best to have individual policies for each horse (age range 19 years to 2 weeks old!) or a blanket policy for all of them?

BSJA supporter membership covers liability for any horse you own or ride for up to £30 million and is £29 a year.

You may also be already covered on your household policy, so worth checking that too.

I am seriously thinking of going down the BHS route as with two, it would save me a fortune. All my vet bills seem to come in at under £100 so i have never made a claim.
