Can you ride in a fly mask?

If you can does it have to be a special one for riding in or can you use a normal fly mask?

Sorry if it is a silly question but it's not something I have ever used before but my boy hates flies so he now has one when he is out!

I don't think a normal field fly mask would have enough vision for the horse to be ridden in it. I have seen ones for sale online and in a catalogue that are designed to be ridden in and the mesh is much more see through than a field one.

I've ridden in mine before (a face mask off a fly rug) but I use a fly fringe now
they don't work AS well but they work well enough and help her to keep the flies off her face
