He looks to have a large amount of white on his leg and you can see that he probably has a good dollop of white on the other side of his face.

Not that I know anything about genetics but isn't there a gene or something that makes a horse skewbald/coloured or Appaloosa even though their coat is a solid colour?
As I say, I could be wrong but I'm sure I heard something like that.

Looks like there's some white behind the rider's leg too...but the 15.2/16.2hh bit's a bit odd!

Appaloosa's can be solid coloured, if both their parents are registered with the breed society. Mine appears to be solid coloured, but has had varnish marks from the beginning and as she gets older is roaning out.

No idea but I was told that if a horse/pony has white extending above the knee/hocks..be stockings etc then it is classed as a coloured ....duno if thats correct

That is what I was told. (unsure of the exact measurement) I was also told if they had a patch of white extending more than say 6inchs it is classed as a coloured.
