Or the westies and the rotties.

1. Didn't think a westie and a rottie could mate.
2. Didn't know the rottie was pregnant until the puppies began to emerge.
3. Probably thinks if humans do it standing up, they can't get pregnant either.

The pups are cute and I'm glad they have found homes, but this was just so unnecessary.

My mum didn't realise we were having what turned out to be our 'A' litter til she came home and the pups were there!! The sire and dam were already hip scored and it turned out to be a nice litter, thankfully.

Not forced to be a fence jumper as westie crosses are often brindle.
Owner needs shooting, or educating or better still ridiculing!
Not suspecting a pregnancy for a pup or two is one thing but with 11 there must have been clear signs. She should have been charged with neglect.

Owner sounds dumb, even after the birth why give horlicks and sure is more nutritional food than weetabix for pups. Not really sure why small dog +bigger dog accidental mating is in the paper anyway, though will perhaps educate others that it is possible.

I recall that I, over 20 years ago, heard of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel stud dog who the owner saw making a Rottweiler bitch in heat, back up with her behind towards a chair! But the stud dog's owner stopped it, when the dog intended to jump up on the chair, from were he would've been able to do the deed. The Rottweiler belonged to a visitor, who didn't think there would be any risk bringing the bitch, since they thought that it was both the wrong day in the heat and that the stud dog was too small to reach up. Luckily the visitor happened to mention something about that the bitch was in heat to the stud dog's owner, who basically immediately thought "If he thinks it is the right day, he'll find a way to do it!" So, the story ends without any Caweilers being born.

Seems no one told Westie that he wasn't up to the job :D
I think it's quite funny and can't see the problem as all the pups were rehomed. Bit mean of the Rottie not caring for her babies though. Perhaps she realised her mistake when she saw them :D

Another head desk moment!!!:( The owner is obviously a few can short of a 6 pack, and feeding the pups weetabix - may as well feed them cardboard, no wonder a load died!!! Mind you I just saw some numpty advertising staff x chi pups on FB, accidental litter of course and has another accidental litter due in a week from the same chi cross with a pom - sigh!!!!!
