PMSL! How bizarre, that can’t be serious, surely? That did bring a much needed laugh on a miserable Monday morning. What happens if you are hacking to a show in ‘formal hunting gear’ to do working hunter? You’re up the creek, then, aren’t you? Or if you hack out with your three dogs? Banned, mate, lol. I love the way the petitioner seems to think he and the government can control what people wear in that way, what a larf!

i assume this latest nonsense involves the wearing of the red, green yellow coats of the masters and huntsmen- not so much the followers? more political crap, high time we put our feet down publically instead of doing the gentlemanly thing of "bog all"!!

Well, yes, I’m guessing they mean the coloured coats of staff but as they’re clueless enough to not define what they mean by formal hunting gear, I don’t think they really know. They may mean staff and followers, but I doubt they really know much about either, tbh. This is just a ridiculous attempt to stop people exercising their right to dress as they want because they think if we don’t dress that way, we can’t hunt, lol. If you got rid of formal hunting gear and everyone wore their everyday pink jods, chaps and Barbour jackets to meets, then they would have to be banned, too, and then we’ll just have to hunt in knickers! I can’t do much more than laugh at this petition, really, as it’s never going to get anywhere and even if it did (which it won’t), it would be in breach of Article 10 of the Human Rights Act.
