I moved my horses home a couple of weeks ago having had them in livery for over a year. They're now living out 24/7 with the use of a posh new 12x24 field shelter. I can't believe how much easier things are, and how much the boys have changed and become such chilled out horses. I'm so happy that they are able to be out 24/7 and not stabled from about midday until the following morning!
I have to say, i do feel a little sorry for them tonight as it's blowing a hooly out there tonight but they do have their shelter which they are using.
This is a temporary measure as I am getting some stables built in the next 6 weeks, but I'm starting to think they may become redundant, as this living out larky seems to suit them so well!
The only downside I would say at the moment is not having a tackroom close, or a school to ride in....but the evenings should be getting lighter in the next few weeks!
How do other people get on with their horses out 24/7?
