Ok, so I am trawling stud websites looking for my mare's stallion - I want to breed her for her fantastic temperment, and although the foaly will hopefully be a driving pony, it doesn't hurt that she has an AMAZING jump, with lots of scope...

I think I have found my man too - check out this website, and let me know what you think of him... basically, I want a super moving 14-14.2 foaly, sturdy, and sound... my girl is 15hh, tb X Connemara, but long backed, so I'd want to put her to something a lot smaller and shorter...

any feedback?

Just to give you a recommendation for the stud anyway - we used them for draughts for our foals born in 2006 and 2007 (see pics on my siggy.) Helen and her daughter Kelly are so professional and lovely, I could not fault them in their dealings with us or care of my mare.

As it was my first time to have a mare at stud and we used them two years running I was fooled into thinking that all studs were all like that! I got a bit of a shock the next year at a different place and then when my mare didn't take ended up dealing with the same stud the next year and had an even worse experience. Lets hope the baby (due any time now) is worth the huge hassle the other stud gave me.

Next time I put a mare in foal I would use Ballinteggart all the way if they had a stallion that would suit at all - worth it all the way for customer service, help and really caring about my mare even though it's a huge stud!

Good luck with your choice!
