Very glad I can see my horses at all times

Sadly I think this boy was hurt or I suspect he would have gotten up a bit sooner. In the US The property and/or ponies owner would most likely get sued as well for a few kids being punks and trespassing

I think they are very nice friends to sit and laugh at it all while he lay there. I wish I could understand what they were saying. Can anyone translate?

its a shame the ponies didnt kick him in the head a few times whilst he was down, to teach him a lesson, I have absolutely no sympathy with him and hope he was hurt (badly enough to never want to sit on a horse again!!)

If he's hurt, I hope it's a lot and he never forgets it. If he's dead... actually, I don't care if he's dead, there are too many nice people in the world that I do care about, to waste my thoughts on scum liket hat.

Ok I think a couple of these reactions are a bit extreme

I certainly would not want this boy dead or kicked in the head. I think what he did was stupid for sure but he was obviously young and with his "friends" (and I use that term loosley)

and I suspect many youth act this idiotic in a varitey of situations.

I know I did

Lucky to be alive for a few things I have done. That is what maturity is all about and they obviously lack it at this point in life.

i hope he's seriously hurt by it, that way he wont do it again.

Jade would you like me to do that to your horses? terrify your horses? make them wary of being handled or approached?

There is a housing estate down the road from me, the kids from the estate started doing that sort of thing but within 6 months it had escallated to a point where one pony was roped round the neck tied to a tree and chased round the tree untill the pony hung itself. not pleasent to deal with.

Of course I would not want them to do that to my horses. That is why I made the post saying I am glad I can monitor my field most of the time.

I still do not think the boy deserves to die though and would not want serious bodily harm to come to him.

good grief..hope the poor kid was ok??

we used to do this a lot when we were kids...didnt luckily end in tears though..

not overly supportive were they, his "friends"??

i loved how "curious" the ponies were of his prone body....

Very stupid, but the pony was not actually hurt, and probably not traumatised for more than a short time.
I would not like it done to my horses, but it could have been much worse (for the ponies)

Im sorry but I wouldnt care if he was badly hurt. It is thugs like these that think its a good idea to try their penknives out on horses. No respect for animals or otherpeoples property

We had problems last summer with 'undesirable types' riding our horses in the field. Unfortunately they took a liking to our haflinger who at the time was 4yrs old and only just backed. Unsuprisingly he became very difficult to catch and decided that people jumping on his back was very scarey. What makes people think they can just jump on someone else's horse??!!
