God, I hope things improve!

First, my 10 month old kitten who was booked in to be spayed, dropped 2 premature, stillborn kittens on the kitchen floor. Felt so terrible for her and them as we'd never even seen her in season or we would have kept her in :(

Then, my mare who has been a challenge to re-break, tried to buck me off one day. Long story short after 2 day lameness work up, she has been diagnosed with PSD and is currently on box rest while under going shockwave treatment. I waited 2 yrs to buy this mare who is stunning, and another year to have and wean her foal so I could re-break her to be a top level dressage horse one day and this has happened :(

Then, my big, handsome black cat went missing on friday. We searched high and low but no sign. I put up posters on tuesday and went into the local shop to put one up. The guy working there told me he'd seen Bailey and he was dead at the side of the road in a nearby village. I just burst into tears in the middle of the shop. I went and found him in the long grass on the verge and had to phone my OH to come home from work to come and get him. I just couldn't bring myself to pick him up :( He's now buried in our garden and my 4yr old daughter helped me make a grave stone for him yesterday. Gutted :(

Taking my mare back to the vet for her 2nd shockwave today. She isn't good on box rest, banging her door, box walking etc and I'm having to frequently give her Sedalin to keep her quiet which I hate doing. Just been out to muck out and she's somehow managed to take the skin off both hocks! Aaaargh, I could just cry right now. I'm going to see if she can go in a tiny pen outside before we both lose our sanity!

Okay, that's my self pitying post over. I hope things get better from now!

Goodness, what a time you've had. I think you're allowed a bit of 'self pity' after that.
Fingers crossed that things improve from now on.
<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>> for your mare.
It does sound as if a pen would be a good idea.

Massive massive ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to you, what a terrable time you are having. A couple of years ago my life got very tough. My pony of a lifetime fell ill, My puppy ate slug pellets and nearly died, I was trying to deal with my other pony who had serious behaveural issues, Eventualy I had to make the sad desition to put my pony of a lifetime to sleep then I lost my job (and also where I lived and kept my ponies). It took a long time but things have improved. Life is getting back on track.
Hold on and hang in there it will get better I promise although in these tough times it's hard to see how.
I hope you are able to turn your mare out alittle to keep you both sane and the shockwave treatment works, I hope your kitten gets over her loss, poor love, but that wasn't your fault, You were being responsable and having her spayed.
If you ever need some one to talk to or just someone to listen feel free to PM me and I'll try to help in any way I can.
RIP Bailey xxx

Goodness you are having such a rough time of it. We had a similar year last year and I can't offer any advice because I was usually depressed all year!

People will have more helpful suggestions than me, but I'm sure a small pen will be fine-but also use swedes, haynets full of yumminess, treat balls, things to rub against etc. Wood to chew on. And whack some Sudocrem on those hocks!

Chin up gorgeous. Will get better-because it would struggle to get any worse!!!

Rip Bailey xx

What a rubbish month :( No wonder you are feeling so fed up.

Hopefully things will start to pick up for you. Hope your girl starts to behave herself and chill in her box. Box rest is tough - we recently did 7 months so I feel your pain. xx
