Hi everyone

Just thought I would share with you what happened to me this morning, it will make you all giggle and take away the Mon morning blues, but please dont laugh to hard as I'm really starting to hurt abit now lol.

Rode this morning at 6am and she was as good as gold, turned her out then did the same as I always do and go into my stable to get changed into my work clothes as I go straight to work from the yard as it is en route.

Anyway, put the bolt across so the door wouldnt open. Kicked my boots off, took jods off, got my leg into my jeans then lost my balance, fell onto the stable door which then flew open and I landed in a heap on the floor outside my stable in the car park in my t shirt, pants and with jeans round my ankles!

The YO had literally, about 30 secs before, walked past turning some horses out, can you imagine if it had happened at the same time as he was going past? Oh god I dread to think.

I am so glad no one saw it but did mention it to a couple of friends that apeared round the corner after the event and they couldnt stop laughing and said it was a ''you've been framed moment''

Anyway I'm OK, Just got a very sore shoulder and my neck is starting to hurt so think I must of jarred it when I landed or something lol but I'm sure some Ibruprofen will soon sort that all out.

Moral of the story - always make sure your stable door is definatly bolted, check and double check lol

Hi guys

When I got to work I told my boss what had happened as I asked him if he had any ibruprofen and he just burst out laughing and spat his coffee all over his desk in the process!

Im Ok, just a bit sore. It is very funny now but really wasnt at the time. To be honest I think it was more embarressing than anything else!

Can you imagine the image if the YO had been 30 secs later and walked round the corner to see me in a heap on the floor in just a t shirt, pants and socks lol.

You have my sympathy, ...and just a little :D
My friend heard something about the very high number of trouser-related accidents!
I do honestly sympathise though, having taken a tumble yesterday at a dressage show. I was collecting score sheets and had sheets in one hand, mug in the other, and tripped on the concrete yard/drive. Mug survived but I fell on my side and bruised my ribs so it hurt to breathe/laugh/cough. Also skinned my knuckle, just a tiny bit, and that's all that shows. Feel like I should have at least been kicked/bucked off not just walking

A couple of days ago I went to lean on a friends stable door expecting it to be bolted - it wasn't and it opens inward. Cue me hanging on and rolling over tryin o end up on the floor !!

I've heard about problems with horses bolting through their stable doors before, but not a human! I hope that you soon feel better again Finn.

Personally I think that your experience, Suffolkmare, sounds more classical, being involved in the potentially dangerous hobby of horse riding, and instead goes and hurts yourself whilst you're having both feet safely on the ground... Hope that you also soon feel better again.

:)

I was at a xc a while ago where a lady decided to go for a last minute portaloo visit only to break her ankle falling over on her way out! Awful at the time but quite funny once she was ok.

If it was any of the horsey men I know, it would have quickly become a story about you falling at his feet with your trousers off... :D

Aww thanks everyone. Im ok just dented pride and a sore shoulder but the Ibuprofen seems to off kicked in a little now

Suffolkmare- hope your not in too much pain and are OK?

The replies I have recieved have made me giggle so thankyou all for cheering me up as I was starting to feel sorry for myself a little bit lol
