Hi all,
I am thinking my horse has had a thorn abscess and the thorn has now migrated further down his face.
I'm calling the vet in the morning to get her out again but wanted to see if anyone else has had any experience of this or if it could still be dental?
He had been sticking his face into the thistles/hedges etc for a couple of weeks (he loves hawthorn, nettles and thistles) and a small patch of inflamed skin appeared and then became a small hole from the abscess bursting - vet gave antibiotics, checked his teeth and gums for any obvious signs (his cheek externally looks normal and no swelling throughout).
All had healed a week ago and now today the same thing has appeared - small patch of inflamed skin but 3 inches further down his face.
The vet said previously if it comes back she will want to x-ray to check his tooth roots.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
