Thorn pads for cobs with a little wither?

Hi everyone! Im looking at a thorn pad for my cob hes not exactly chunky and does have a little wither not much tho. Im a bit concerned it will be a waste of money. Whats everyone’s opinion?

Don't bother. They arent great for ponies with any sort of wither and they will put pressure on and rub them. They aren't great for adults either unless you are very skilled at riding bareback and put plenty of pads underneath to alleviate some of the human weight. Plus they roll round and round and round the belly if your not careful!

Not good for anything other than small children. Too many people using them because of saddle fitting problems but they put pressure on the spine and also from stirrup bars. It took me a year and lots of physio to resolve the issues which had developed in a pony l bought a couple of years ago who had been ridden in a thorn pad because of saddle fitting difficulties.
