Hi,
i have a mare who seems to have a few thorns in her neck that i cant get out, i dont want to poke and prod too much!
What is that paste poultice called that you can get? or am i imagining that it exist!
or any other suggestions on what may help to draw them out/getting them to start to so i can carefully tweezer them out.
Thanks

Sorry, can't help you with the paste but you'll need to keep an eye on them .... as I'm sure you know.
A mare I know got thorns in her neck and she ended up with fistulas that needed operating on. If I remember correctly, she needed the area de-briding ... she ended up with many craters on her neck and a big chunk out of her withers.

thanks
i am assuming they are thorns, they seem like it, quite a few little puncture wounds on her neck.
I'm trying not to poke and prod them too much as i dont want to make them worse.
my plan of action is to try and clip hair off her neck and have a darn good luck/try and get them out if infact there is any still in there!
A friend had a nosey at her and suggested pure aloe vera but i'm not that convinced on that one yet.

thanks, someone kindly pm'd me about that yesterday so i managed to get some from the chemist
