I know i've done this post before but I lost the post. Can anyone give me any detailed tips, training plans to follow.

They haven't been ridden in 4-5 years. They are thoroughbreds, 18 years young. They did used to hunt and be hacked out but they do buck and rear. So I will also be wanting tips to reduce/stop that.

Any other questions please ask below.

Thanks for helping! :)

I'd certainly make sure their teeth are checked, tack fits and they are in good health before you start. I find long-reining more useful than lunging and less stress on a very unfit horse.

Sorry for being stupid yesterday, but if they buck and rear it will be worse when they are fit and athletic :) Take it slow and don't feel bad if you get to a stage where they are just too much for you, it could happen and there's no shame in admitting it. Other thing if they haven't been properly re-schooled (hunting doesn't necessarily mean re-schooled) then they may still work in the way of taking up contact means go faster. Lots of hacking on a loose rein :)
