Hi, one of my little mares came in lame on Saturday evening, and had a nice little swelling on the outside of her hock. Sunday morning she wasn't lame as such, only on every 4th or 5th stride, but twisting her leg when she wasnt showing lame (does that make sense?)
I turned her out as there was no heat and she isn't the sort of pony that would stand nicely in the stable. She would do less damage out in the field. She wasn't lame when she came in last night, she was just twisting the leg whilst walking.
This morning the swelling has grown (its now the size of half a golf ball) and she walked out slightly lame. Within 5 minutes she had walked the lameness off & was back to just twisting.
There is no lameness this evening.
She is having a cold pack bandaged to her hock twice a day as hosing isnt an option!
She is unbroken, not in any type of work, she's just being a baby at the moment. I'm hoping to show her!!

Does this sound like a Thoroughpin? I have never had any dealings with these so I'm unsure.

If she is still like this in the morning the vet will be called. I'm just trying to put my mind at easy this evening, like we do!!

Any help greatly recieved! Thank you!!
